Mastro's Comprehensive Edit

This was an opportunity where I was able to work with a live client. Students in the class had to choose a client and ask them if they needed any documents edited. This was to help us apply our newly learned skills on comprehensive editing and copyediting.

 

The live client I ended up working with was a manager from the steakhouse restaurant, Mastro’s, to help comprehensively edit their employee manual. This was probably one of my most time-consuming projects, however it certainly taught me a lot. I had to go through the pages I was given, and eliminate, edit, and redesign them. The client simply wanted them to have a more modern look and organized. By working with the client and showing them my progress throughout the way, it helped create a document that felt easier to read and more professional. This experience improved my collaborative skills, as well as my copyediting and comprehensive editing skills. It also provided more confidence in my ability to perform these sorts of tasks.
