Narration
To help understand the principals of visual communication, students had to choose one of the three home pages that the professor selected to redesign. It had to be a redesign of both the desktop and mobile home pages. These redesigns were to help us apply our newly learned visual communication skills.
I decided to redesign the Yale School of Art home page. The original home page is designed by students from Yale. This redesign is not meant to discredit their work.
The original page is very colorful and busy. While it does come off as very artsy, I wondered how it might look if it were to be redesigned in a more modern way. Adobe Illustrator was used to create both the wireframes and final designs of the pages, which took some learning to do. However, with the skills learned from this class, I was able to successfully create a mockup that served the purpose intended. This assignment overall was really fun for me.
